“ We were intrigued with the posted menu but dinner opens late (for us). However, on our last night in Genoa tit worked out. You have to ring the doorbell to get in. Once in, the owners are the nicest people ever! The atmosphere is so quaint! The food was excellent and, for what you get, the value was excellent! Don’t rush. Just savour and enjoy. ”
“ This was our second visit to this gem of a restaurant. Au Cafe is hidden on a side street and offers genuine local specialties prepared with love and sophistication. The owner attends to guests himself and is a warm and genial presence. The space is comfortable and elegant without being stuffy and the prices are more than reasonable considering the quality of the cuisine. It's more difficult than one might think to find a genuine Ligurian restaurant that does not offer the usual tourist fare. If you want a real Genovese experience, this is the place. ”
“ A tiny lovely place with friendly and kind staff and great food! The place is located in an alley in the city center. Ambience is so welcoming and you‘ll enjoy the food (they have typical Genovese dish). I recommend Au Café for sure, plus the bread is outstanding! You can’t imagine that a tiny piece of bread could open a wonderland of tastes for you! So don’t miss it! ”
